Tamara

While I was in Jamaica, my mom and I
went to the school run by Robin's Nest
that is for the younger children who
are at the orphanage and a few of the
kids in the neighborhood! Anyway...
it's a great school, and my mom and I
got to go watch the kids get ready for
school! They started out by some playtime
and then they sang some songs together,
read a story, and recited stuff like the
days of the week and the months of the
year. The teacher called on Tamara (she's
three and lives at the nest) to recite the
days of the week. Tamara gets up and
says them while ticking them off on her
fingers.

Tamara: "The days of the week are Sunday,
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thurday,
Saturday!"
Teacher: " TAMARA! Noooo! The days of the
week are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thurday, FRIDAY!!!!, Saturday!"

Tamara stands back up and tries again...

Tamara: "The days of the week are Sunday,
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thurday,
Saturday!"

On and on it goes! she couldn't remember
Friday! Later in the week I heard her
practicing and she was still forgetting Friday!
It was too cute! God bless!

TLC

The Love of Christ Ministries (TLC) is a Christian
orphanage in South Africa. It was established by
the Jarvis family in 1993. TLC rescues babies,
many of which are HIV-AIDS victims. TLC has
helped more than 600 babies in the course of
fifteen years! TLC wants to make a difference
in the lives of orphans in Africa. Their goal
is to find forever families for the children or
reuniting the babies with their biological
families. God bless!

More Pics!

Here are some more pictures from Robin's Nest!
Enjoy and God bless!

Chavar (left) and Shaquille were two mischief makers!
They were so cute and sweet at times also!
Chavar previously lived on the streets which was
really eye opening to see first hand a little boy
who had gone through what he has!

Here are Avalee and Dean! They were so cute playing together
on the beach! Sweethearts!

Here is little Donte! He was an adorable happy little boy!
He was almost always in my mom's arms!

Robin's Nest

Little Ricardo (above) came to the 'Nest' while we were there.
He was a cutie pie weighing only 8 lbs. at 2 months.

Matthew came to the nest malnourished. Now he is doing much
better!

Keishmar-he was really funny and loved playing peek-a-boo!

Ian was a little boy with CP! He has the sweetest smile!

In April, I was blessed to be able to go to a
Christian run orphanage in Jamaica called
Robin's Nest with my mom. There I met
about 30 adorable children who I fell in
love with! Enjoy the pictures! I have more coming!

TLC

Here is a link to another orphanage.
It is called The Love of Christ Ministries
and is located in South Africa. TLC takes
in babies, many of which have special
needs or are HIV AIDS positive. Most
babies come from the Hospital or from
surrounding Areas!

Compassion

Compassion International is a Christian ministry that helps
children around the world. It releases children from spiritual,
economic, social and physical poverty. Compassion finds
sponsors for children. These sponsors pay $32 a month and
the money goes for the child's education, health and most
importantly, they get to learn about Jesus! I sponsor a little
nine year old boy named Kevin! He is a great little guy who
loves art and soccer! We correspond through letters! Sponsoring
a child is a blessing to both you and the child you sponsor!

Beautiful Shantara

I recently went to Jamaica to an orphanage called Robin's Nest.
There I met an amazing little girl named Shantara!
Shantara had CB and couldn't talk or control her body but
the look of joy in her eyes was amazing! She had such joy even
though she had been abandoned by her parents and she was
trapped in her little body! I recently found out that Shantara
graduated to Heaven! She had the flu and she died peacefully in
her sleep! She is now playing and running with Jesus in Heaven!
I saw Jesus in beautiful beautiful Shantara when I first looked in
her eyes!
