Robin's Nest

Little Ricardo (above) came to the 'Nest' while we were there.
He was a cutie pie weighing only 8 lbs. at 2 months.

Matthew came to the nest malnourished. Now he is doing much
better!

Keishmar-he was really funny and loved playing peek-a-boo!

Ian was a little boy with CP! He has the sweetest smile!

In April, I was blessed to be able to go to a
Christian run orphanage in Jamaica called
Robin's Nest with my mom. There I met
about 30 adorable children who I fell in
love with! Enjoy the pictures! I have more coming!

TLC

Here is a link to another orphanage.
It is called The Love of Christ Ministries
and is located in South Africa. TLC takes
in babies, many of which have special
needs or are HIV AIDS positive. Most
babies come from the Hospital or from
surrounding Areas!

Compassion

Compassion International is a Christian ministry that helps
children around the world. It releases children from spiritual,
economic, social and physical poverty. Compassion finds
sponsors for children. These sponsors pay $32 a month and
the money goes for the child's education, health and most
importantly, they get to learn about Jesus! I sponsor a little
nine year old boy named Kevin! He is a great little guy who
loves art and soccer! We correspond through letters! Sponsoring
a child is a blessing to both you and the child you sponsor!

Beautiful Shantara

I recently went to Jamaica to an orphanage called Robin's Nest.
There I met an amazing little girl named Shantara!
Shantara had CB and couldn't talk or control her body but
the look of joy in her eyes was amazing! She had such joy even
though she had been abandoned by her parents and she was
trapped in her little body! I recently found out that Shantara
graduated to Heaven! She had the flu and she died peacefully in
her sleep! She is now playing and running with Jesus in Heaven!
I saw Jesus in beautiful beautiful Shantara when I first looked in
her eyes!

Saving Levi

Here's a link to a video
about a little Chinese orphan named Levi.
He was abandoned a field when he was only a few days old.
He was severely burned and hungry. He was found by
a Christian couple who were working at an orphanage
that they started. They eventually adopted him.
After he was brought back to China, he recovered quickly and
was adopted by a wonderful christian missionary family!
He is now five years old! His adopted mom, wrote a book called
"Saving Levi". It tells about the whole journey from the field, into
his forever family. The family that adopted him also run an orphanage.
the site. The picture is of levi at four years old in the field where he was
abandoned as an infant! God bless!

Define orphan

Define an orphan...

If you asked me that a few years ago
the first thing that would pop into my
head is an adorable little three year old
who eventually gets adopted and lives
happily ever after! Now that is not the case.
Unfortunately, many orphans don't get adopted.
Even if they are adopted... that isn't the end of
the story. Most orphans have attachment disorders
and other things like that. Many are special needs
that can never be adopted. In Russia, at the age of
16, the children are kicked out of the orphanage.
10% of them commit suicide after leaving.
In Russia, there are over 700,000 orphans
in orphanages. There are 1.2 million others on
the streets! That is just in russia! It is amazing
to think that while we are sitting in America,
there are children all over the world with no place
to sit and no family to love!
Please pray for these children! I know we
can't help every orphan but we can pray
that God will be with them and save them!
